Easy Drinking Whisky, The Fresh Fruity One (Scotland)
A blended grain Scotch whisky from the maverick Easy Drinking Whisky Company Ltd, whose whiskies are named after flavour descriptors. According to EDWC founder David Robertson, “The Fresh Fruity One is a cracker, combining six of the tastiest grain whiskies in Scotland. We had to look beyond malts to get the taste we were looking for, hence the mixed grain approach. Strange but true, we felt that malt spoiled the flavour in this particular taste zone. Radical yes, traditional no, tasty most definitely! Whisky from Strathclyde provides the spine, Invergordon adds the coconut sweetness, with the fabby fresh fruity flavours coming from Port Dundas, Girvan, North British and Cameronbridge.” The Fresh Fruity One certainly lives up to its name on the nose, delivering tropical fruits and sweet furniture polish. The tropical fruits carry through onto the palate, along with coconut and a refreshing zestiness. The ‘buzz’ lingers right through the finish. Excellent ‘on the rocks.’ 40.0% ABV, 70cl, £18.99, Duty Free & Travel Retail.
